How a round works

Five minutes, start to finish. Then someone demands a rematch.

  1. Add players, pick a category

    Name your roster, choose from 28 illustrated avatars. Players and settings are remembered for next game night.

  2. Pass the phone

    Each player privately reveals their role, then hides it before handing over. One of them is told nothing.

  3. Give clues

    Say one word about the secret, or add one stroke to a shared drawing. Too vague? Suspicious. Too obvious? You just handed the impostor the word.

  4. Discuss

    Set the timer to 1, 2, 3 or 5 minutes. Who sounded lost? Who copied everyone else?

  5. Vote in secret

    Private ballots, a runoff on ties. The tally reveals whether you caught the impostor or accused a friend.

Same word for everyone but one. Tap a player to peek at their card. Then imagine doing that with a straight face.

The phone goes around the table.

Every secret sits behind an explicit reveal and disappears when you hide, hand off, pause or switch apps. Nobody has to look away.

Two ways to play

Classic

Spoken clues, quick rounds, endless bluffing. Players who know the word can peek at example clues. The impostor gets one vague hint to blend in.

Drawing

Everyone adds one stroke to a shared canvas, one to three laps. The impostor has to fake a stroke without knowing what the picture is. Great for kids, and for tables that don’t share a language.

2,500 words in 10 categories

Party is completely free in both modes, all 250 words. Bluff Club + unlocks the other nine. Prices and trial terms are shown in the app before you buy.

Built for a shared screen

  • Roles hide the moment you tap Hide, pause, or switch apps. Nothing is on screen during a handoff.
  • Ballots are private, sealed one by one, with a runoff when the vote ties.
  • Know the word? Peek at three example clues. The impostor gets one vague hint to help them blend in.
  • A 1, 2, 3 or 5 minute discussion timer, and a Hide & pass button that gets pressed with real feeling.

Six languages

English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese. Words, clues and hints are written for each language, not machine translated.

Family friendly

Every word is chosen for mixed-age tables: no profanity, no adult themes, no politics. Kids and grandparents can play the same round.

Questions from the table

How do you play the impostor game?

Everyone at the table gets the same secret word, except one player: the impostor. Take turns giving a one-word clue about the secret, discuss who sounded lost, then vote in secret. Catch the impostor and the table wins. If the impostor slips through, they win the round.

How many players can play?

3 to 20 players on one iPhone or iPad. The phone is passed around so each player sees their role in private. Nobody needs their own device or the app.

Does Bluff Club need the internet?

No. Bluff Club is an offline party game. It works on planes, in cars and anywhere without signal. The only network call is to the App Store if you buy a subscription.

Is Bluff Club free?

Yes. The Party category, all 250 words, is free in both Classic and Drawing modes. Bluff Club + is an optional subscription that unlocks the other nine categories. Prices and trial terms are shown in the app before you buy.

Is it suitable for kids and families?
